Mobilization in the Gorges de l'Ardeche to learn more about bats

past 2 years, the Union Management Gorges de l'Ardeche (SGGA) CORA Wildlife and co-organize days research colonies of bats in the Gorge. Two days of exploration that took place in late winter, 5 teams have surveyed the balms, ledges and ignored numerous cavities of the Nature reserve in search of colonies of bats.
This survey is an opportunity to unite the forces of the bat (bat experts) from across the region and Local cavers and climbers. Each brings its equipment on ropes to access difficult areas for some, knowledge of the biology and species identification of bats for the other. It was an opportunity to have rich discussions on the protection and management of these protected species in the gorge. On the number of cavities explored little home to large colonies of bats, but those days have revealed some interesting sites to watch in the coming years. The
SGGA thank all those who rallied to the occasion and hopes to renew this type of action.
